Short biography
Balme was brought up in Porthleven. Her book Seagull Morning (1990) recounts her childhood, growing up in Porthleven in the 1930s and 1940s.
Full biography
She has also written a further autobiography Touching Tomorrow: Coming of Age in Post-War Cornwall (2004) and Carminow (2013), a historical fiction about Roger de Carminow.
