Wendy Aldridge

Aldridge was born in Somerset, England, and educated in Switzerland. She lived in India and served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force during World War II. Her autobiography, Hobnails and Seaboots (1956), focuses on the experiences of flower farming in the Isles of Scilly, charting her attempts to make a living on Grinlington Farm in Highertown, St. Agnes during WWII.
