Short biography

Based in Perranporth, Bizley was well known in Cornwall as an artist, painting under her maiden name, Alice C Butler. A member of the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, she brought the fine detail of the miniaturist to her line drawings. She became a bard of the Gorsedh Kernow in 1956, in recognition of her research into and illustration of Cornish slate figures. She chose the Bardic name Covathores Leghveyn, Cornish for 'Recorder of Slates'. Her husband, Maurice Bizley, wrote a history the parish of St Agnes.
