Short biography

A writer of poetry and of popular stories for girls. She was one of the first British writers of modern stories for schoolgirls. After World War I, Brazil bought The Warren, a cottage in Polperro, and in 1922 added a piece of land known as 'Warren Field' in order to preserve them from development. She continued to add to this property, leaving it to the National Trust on her death.
