Short biography

Barber, whose real name was Barbara Anthony, was an author of books for children. She graduated from University College London. Her works included The Mousehole Cats and The Ghosts, a runner-up for the Carnegie Medal which was later made into the film The Amazing Mr Blunden. She maintained a dual residence in Kent and in Mousehole, Cornwall.
