Julian, J. (1985) Ellen Bray. London: Penguin
Included in the Elizabeth Treffry Collection initially, it came to light that Jane Julian, the supposed author of Ellen Bray, was a pseudonym for David Wiseman. Allegedly Wiseman was advised to use a pseudonym as it was thought that women read more historical romantic fiction and that they preferred to read books written by women. The novel is a romance set in amongst Cornwall's mining industry in the late nineteenth century.
