Short biography

Edith M Jolly was a regular contributor to the West Countryman. Originally from Yorkshire, her husband was Cornish and she became a bard of the Gorsedh Kernow in 1956.

Jolly was one of six successful writers of one-act plays in the Western Morning News, with her play The Stranger.

On joining the Gorsedh, she took the bardic name Lowenek, meaning 'jolly' in Cornish. She lectured in Cornish History.
