Linton was the first female salaried journalist in Britain and the author of over 20 novels. 

Full biography

She noted in Boase and Courtney's Bibliotheca Cornubiensis as the author of The Deathship of Trescat Cove, published serially in the Illustrated London News in 1870. She was notoriously anti-feminist and opposed the New Woman ideal of the late nineteenth century.
