An artist of the Newlyn Colony, Forbes was Canadian by birth. She was a prolific and outstanding painter and was a partner with her husband, Stanhope Forbes, in running The Forbes School of Painting.
Full biography
She died at Newlyn of cancer. A large personal archive of hers is held in the West Cornwall Art Archive.
