Short biography

Elizabeth M Trefusis was a Cornish poet. She was the second daughter of Robert Cotton Trefusis and sister of Robert G W Trefusis, the 17th Baron Clinton.

Full biography

Trefusis was included in Rowton’s Female Poets of Great Britain (1848). She was an acquaintance of Anna Seward and William Beloe. Richard Polwhele had a poem in one of his collections which was addressed to her. Her chief work was Poems and Tales in Two volumes (1808). Some poems by her appeared in the Gentleman’s Magazine (1808).
