Born in 1833 in Liverpool, Norway was an author of novels for young people, many of which were set in Cornwall.
Full biography
She married Arthur Stanbury Norway in 1857 and had two sons. in 1886, following the death of her husband, Norway began writing fiction under the name 'G. Norway', concealing her gender.
Her son Arthur Hamilton Norway also wrote a work of fiction and his son, Nevil Shute Norway, authored the 1950 book A Town Like Alice (1950). She died in Dublin in 1915.
