Short biography
Born in Cornwall of old Cornish family, Hunkin was educated in Ireland at the Methodist College, Belfast, and later attended the Penzance School of Art. She composed more than 300 poems and was awarded the Poetry Society's Premium.
Full biography
Her sonnet on Humphrey Davy gained first place in Cornish Gorsedh in 1939. She became a bard of the Gorsedh Kernow in 1944, taking the name Corsen Dreghys, which means 'Cut Reed' in Cornish.
