Full biography

Tozer was born in Dorset and educated at the University of Cambridge, where she read English Literature and Language. She moved to Cornwall in 1986 and was chair of Falmouth Poetry Group from 1999-2005. Her version of twelfth century Breton lais of Marie de France, whose tales are set in Brittany, Wales, Cornwall and Normandy, was published in 2007.

Another long-term translation project is that of another Breton/Norman text - Béroul’s Tristran (c1150-70), one of the oldest surviving romances. Of particular interest to Tozer is the familiarity of Béroul with Cornwall.
