Short biography

Born in Devon, Paull was the daughter of John Paull, the mining engineer. She was educated in Tavistock and Plymouth.

Full biography

She worked as a governess and teacher before beginning to write fiction in 1870. In 1886, she married John Ripley, a continental travel guide and an active lecturer on temperance. She is noted by George Clement Boase and William Courtney in Volume Two of their Bibliotheca Cornubiensis.
