Short biography

The mother of the Cornish artist Jack Pender, Nettie Pender authored a book of her recollections of Mousehole as she knew it in her life. She was the first accompianist of Mousehole Male Voice Choir. She became a Cornish bard in 1973, taking the name Porthenys, the Cornish name for Mousehole, meaning 'Island Harbour'.
