Full biography
Born in Lelant, Cornwall, Pilcher began writing when she was a child. She attended secretarial college before undertaking war service in the Foreign Office and in the Women’s Royal Naval Service. She married Graham Pilcher in Lelant Church in 1946 and moved to Dundee, Scotland.
