Short biography

Born in South Wales, as a child Manning-Sanders lived in Chesire. She was educated at Manchester University and was first published by the Hogarth Press. After marrying George Sanders in 1911, they spent much of their time working in a circus and touring Britain in a horse-drawn caravan. Eventually, the family moved to Land's End, Cornwall. She wrote novels, short stories and verse, as well as travelogues and historical texts, and published anthologies of fairy-tales.
