Susan Soyinka is social historian, researcher and author.

Full biography

She graduated from Keele University in 1969, and spent ten years in Ghana and Nigeria working as a teacher and lecturer. She later worked as an educational psychologist before turning to writing on her retirement. She married Kayode Soyinka, younger brother of writer, Wole Soyinka.

Her 2013 book From East End to Land’s End details the evacuation of 100 children from Jews’ Free School in the East End of London to the Methodist village of Mousehole during World War Two. She has also written a biography of the Viennese Jewish artist Albert Reuss, looking particularly at his time in Mousehole.
