Short biography

Sylvia Priestland lived in between Carfury, Penwith and Hampstead Garden Suburb, London. Priestland was an artist trained at Hornsey School of Art and the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. It was in Oxford that she met her future husband, Gerald Priestland, the broadcaster and foreign correspondent. Together they wrote and illustrated several books on Cornwall.
